Happy packaging

I can’t get over the design in this packaging. I love that vibrant color palette. Cheers to this gourmet cookie company for doing something fun and funky instead of stuffy for their branding.

New designer crush: Erin Jang

Among the several careers I picked for myself as a child (forensic scientist, biblical archaeologist, author), I wanted to design magazine layouts. I have no idea why I picked magazines, but that’s what I wanted to do. Some days, I still think about it. (I stopped thinking about forensics after high school chemisty, though.)

Which is why I’m so in love with Erin Jang’s designs for Martha Stewart Living and Esquire. And she doesn’t just do graphic design–she styles photo shoots and videos, creates paper art, does art direction, the whole shebang. Erin Jang, I want your job!

Fun note about the spread above: The photos were taken with the Hipstamatic app on an iPhone!

I may or may not be sobbing like a baby.

I have several company crushes. Most are design-related small businesses in California, and they’re always doing amazing and creative things.

But lately, Google Chrome has been catching my eye. You have to admire a global company that isn’t afraid to take a stand on a devisive issue or pull on those emotional strings in their advertising. Case in point? Two commercials:

(More about that last one here.)

I may or may not be sobbing like a baby. Hope you got something out of these videos too!
